FUNCTIONAL TRAINING

Maximal Strength

Maximal strength training, also known as heavy strength training or resistance training, is a form of exercise that focuses on increasing an individual’s ability to generate maximal force against a resistance. It involves lifting heavy weights for relatively low repetitions, with the goal of increasing an individual’s overall strength and muscle mass.

Maximal Power

Power training, also known as explosive strength or plyometric training, is a form of exercise that focuses on increasing an individual’s ability to generate maximal force in a short amount of time. It involves performing exercises or movements that require rapid and forceful muscle contractions, aimed at improving speed, agility, and power.

Anaerobic Treshold Training

Anaerobic threshold training, also known as lactate threshold training or tempo training, is a type of exercise training that focuses on improving an individual’s ability to sustain high-intensity exercise without accumulating excessive amounts of lactate in the blood. Lactate is a byproduct of anaerobic metabolism that accumulates when the body is unable to clear it efficiently, leading to fatigue and a decline in performance.

Hypertrophy

Hypertrophy training, is a form of exercise that focuses on stimulating the growth and enlargement of skeletal muscle fibres. It involves performing exercises and resistance training with the goal of increasing the size and volume of muscle tissue. This type of training typically involves a combination of resistance exercises, such as weightlifting, bodyweight exercises, performed with proper technique and progressively increasing the resistance over time.

Aerobic Training

Aerobic training, also known as aerobic exercise or cardiovascular exercise, is a form of physical activity that stimulates the cardiovascular and respiratory systems, improving the body’s ability to transport and utilise oxygen efficiently. It involves sustained, rhythmic activities that require continuous use of oxygen to meet the body’s energy demands. Aerobic training typically involves activities such as running, cycling, swimming, performed at a moderate intensity for an extended duration.
